Research brief

As my blog title says, my research will focus on Spanish libraries during the ‘Islamic golden period’ (8th to 13th centuries A.D.)

The key things I will research are:
- How they developed
- What effect they had on the spread of knowledge and ideas
- What they constited of and where the could be found
- What subjects were covered in these libraries
- Who used them

The resources I have chosen to use are:
- Library catalogues
- Indexes and abstracts and journal articles (online resources)
- Websites (including podcasts, image and video resources)

I will read and evaluate all the resources and makes sure that the information is:
- Relevant to the subject
- The source is authentic and reputable
- It’s accurate and current

In the research process I’ll endeavor to keep records of:
- Search strategies and search strings
- Different databases searched
- All materials that have been retrieved and consulted
- Libraries, websites and other institutions that are visited
